PROGRAM GUIDE

Arts Ed Newark is a sector builder and connector, elevating the field as a whole by helping partners bring access to arts education in Newark to scale. This vision is supported by our online Program Guide which allows our partners to publicize their programs for teachers, students of all ages, families, and artists to the Newark community.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)

Multiple Summer Programs

NJPAC offers immersive, high-impact arts learning: Summer Camp Kids (Ages 9–12) | July 13–31; Summer Camp Teens (Ages 13–18) | July 13–31; TD Jazz for Teens Summer Intensive (Ages 13–18) | July 27–Aug 1. Led in part by acclaimed jazz educator Mark Gross, these programs emphasize collaboration, storytelling, and performance, with opportunities including original productions and participation in the Newport Jazz Festival.

Ailey Camp

AileyCamp Newark, a fun-filled six-week summer dance camp where young people ages 11–14 learn to dance and explore their creativity, connecting youth to a legacy of artistic excellence and cultural expression.

NextGen: Glassblowing Apprentice Program

Program Details

This apprenticeship may fulfill an academic service learning or community service requirement. Preference will be given to BIPOC-identifying youth living in Newark. Limited to 8 students per semester. Registration required.

Fall Semester

Program Dates: Wednesdays January, 14 – June 17, 2026

Time: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Priority Deadline: January 2, 2026

Rolling admission post deadline, pending availability

Cost: Free

Multiple Summer Camp Opportunities

IMC hosts an annual summer camp which provides a nurturing environment where young artists explore music, dance, and creative expression serving students entering grades 1-10.

PRISM Club

Join the PRISM Club to create glass art in a safe space for diversity, inclusion and creative energy! PRISM Club meets weekly to explore glassmaking techniques including glassblowing, flameworking, jewelry-making and design, mosaics, stained glass and more. Facilitated conversations and workshops, led by our partner mental health providers, will also be integrated into the sessions. Experience the magic of fire and glass, and build community at the same time!

The PRISM Club is open to all LGBTQ+ youth, ages 14-26
Preference will be given to BIPOC-identifying youth living in Newark
No previous glassmaking or design experience necessary.

Program Dates: Tuesdays, January 13 – June 16, 2026
Time: 3:30- 5:30 pm
Priority Deadline: December 1, 2026

PRISM Young Adult
Program Dates: Saturdays, January 17 – June 17, 2026
Time: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Age: 18 – 26
Cost: Free
Priority Deadline: January 2, 2026
