Student Empowerment Through SEL in Music Education

Save The Music, in partnership with the Center for Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning, has launched a new professional learning program specifically geared towards teaching music educators how to embed social emotional learning (SEL) in the classroom. Student Empowerment Through SEL in Music Education includes nine, monthly webinars from September 2021 to May 2022. The webinars are free to attend and tailored for music educators but are also relevant for student musicians, parents and families, as well as music education advocates. All those interested in SEL in music education are welcome to join!

Young Audiences Assemblies

Young Audiences offers a variety of Assembly programs developed to increases awareness and appreciation of different cultures, backgrounds, and points of view. Young Audiences Assembly programs are delivered directly to school communities. Partners can select amongst through 3 easily accessible Assembly formats, In-Person, Live Virtual, or Pre-Recorded On Demand.

Trauma-Informed Care And the Arts Training Series

Are you an educator, youth development worker, teaching artist or healthcare professional that serves youth in Newark? Do you want to learn more about trauma-informed care? This special hands-on series, a result of a year-long collaboration at Arts Ed Newark, will be led by trauma and arts specialists who will guide discussion about how trauma is defined and impacts youth and ourselves. You will learn how arts strategies can promote resilience and create safer youth spaces. Please join us for this important and necessary training series. Credits available for participants of entire series. You must attend all three workshops in the series.

Summer Arts Camp 2021

The Institute of Music for Children is located in Elizabeth, NJ.

Summer Arts 2021 will offer IN-PERSON full-day camp for grades 1-11. July 5 - Aug 6. Students will rotate through a wide-range of art classes in the A.M. including instrumental music (piano, guitar, drums, violin), visual, media, and performing arts including acting, singing and a variety of dance forms (breakdance, hip hop, jazz/modern). During P.M. hours students can rehearse for the Production or participate in Recreation - group games and activities.

ONLINE CLASSES & PRIVATE LESSONS offered July 5- July 31 in wide range of art forms for grades 1-11. Classes are held either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs. Friday Fun Day is free to all enrolled students and includes Gametime, KidSpeak or Teen Talk.
